Life in Cahuita barely resembles the Costa Rica we knew. We might as well have traveled to a different country. After a full 8 hour day we settled on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, to us, an explored new region, to locals, a whole different culture. One needs to resolve themselves to the fact that bus transportation is an additional form of travel, sit back and enjoy the countryside. The trouble with limited time is that you desire to travel like you have nine months, but in reality you have 3 weeks, therefore the sacrifice is long days on public buses across the country.
